いよいよ摘み取り季節が終わりました。まあ、数週間前終わったけど、最近農業を休んでいる。翻訳の仕事をしたり、子供たちの保育園への送り迎えをしたりしている。そして、8月末から雨が降り続いていて、摘み取り季節の終わりを数日早めた。
The picking season has finally finished. Well, it finished a few weeks ago but I’ve been taking some time off the field. Been doing some translation work and running the kids to and from nursery school. It’s been raining almost non-stop since late August which brought the end of the picking season forward a few days.

収穫季節の最後の月にはいろんなことがあった。ここから近い大門にある「SAKURAI」というケーキ屋さんがいろんなケーキにうちのブラックベリーを使ったくれた。以下の写真はブラックベリーが載っている「フルーツロール」というケーキで、SAKURAIはロールケーキで有名だから、これはうまかった。一番おいしかったのが「ベリーベリー」というケーキで、甘いベリー類とすっぱいベリー類でトッピングされたラズベリームースとブラックベリーピュレー・カスタードクリームの材料のものだった。めっちゃおいしかった。写真撮ればよかった。
A few things happened in the final month of picking. An excellent cake store in Daimon near here called “SAKURAI” used my berries for a large variety of cakes. The picture below is a “fruit roll” with a blackberry on top. SAKURAI is famous for its swiss rolls, so this was pretty good. The best dessert was something called “Berry Berry”, which was a raspberry mousse with blackberry puree / custard and topped with sweet and sharp berries. Absolutely delicious.. should have taken a photo!

また、取材のためKNBテレビも農園へ来た。「母心」というお笑いコンビが農園にも家にもインタビューをしに来てくれた。二人とも面白くて、楽しい時間を過ごせた。これも写真を撮ればよかった！
KNB (Kitanihon Broadcasting) also came to the field for an interview. The comedy duo called “Haha-gokoro” came to the field and then back to the house and we did a few interviews. It was a bit of fun. Very funny guys. Should have taken a photo of that as well!

ブラックベリーが終わっているけど、ラズベリーは今最盛期を迎えている。だが、残念ながら最近の多い雨でほとんど腐ってだめになっている。
The blackberries may be finished, but the raspberries are peaking at the moment. However, unfortunately most have rotted in the incessant rain we’ve had recently.
