急に寒くなってきた。短パンを履いて冷房をつけていたのは先日のことのようです。
It’s suddenly got cold. Only seems like the other day I was wearing shorts and had the air conditioning on.

天気予報では、来週から雪が降りはじめるようだ。そこで、しばらく畑の仕事を休む。いくつかの点でさびしいけど、来春に向けて充電できる機会だと思えばいい。
The weather forecast says it will start snowing from next week, so I will be having a break from the field for a while. In some ways, I miss it but it’s also a good chance to recharge the batteries and come back fresh in the spring.

ところで、寒い季節が始まる前に、ラズベリーの苗を植えた。秋なりの品種で、ブラックベリーの収穫がちょうど終わったころに取ればいいね。
Anyway, before the weather gets cold, I planted some new raspberries last week. They’re autumn-bearing varieties, so hopefully I’ll have some berries next year when the blackberries finish.

11月末なのに実がなっている苗もある。
Despite being the end of November, some of the plants are still fruiting!

しばらく畑で仕事ができないから、厨房で仕事をする時間が増える。今、新しいジャムの味が開発中だ。
Now that I can’t do any work in the field for a while, I’ll start to do some more work in the kitchen. I have a couple of new jam flavors I’m working on.
