ブログの更新はもっとしたかったけど、収穫季節が本格的になって、かなり忙しい！
I wanted to update the blog a bit more regularly, but the picking season has been hectic.

でも、すごく楽しい！
But it’s been great fun!

BUT、収穫のために毎朝４時半起きていて、疲れてきた!
BUT, getting up at 4.30 a.m. every morning to go picking is wearing me out fast!

そして、収穫で明日のロンドンオリンピック開会式が見られない。悔しい。
And unfortunately I’m going to miss the Olympics opening ceremony tomorrow morning.

ジャム用のベリーだけじゃなくて、直売所で売る生食の実もとっている。このベリーはきれいでしょう！１パック（約200g入り）で３５０円。
In addition to berries for jam, I’ve also been picking berries to sell at the farmers’ market. Look at these beauties! 350 yen a pack (about 200 grams worth).

直売所で売っているベリーは他の品種と比べたら、そんなに大きくないけど、しっかりした硬さで、長持ちする。で、味も結構いいんだ。
Blackberries sold at the farmers’ market are not the biggest variety, but they’re firm and long-lasting. Pretty good flavor as well.

熟していない実はまだたくさんあり、これらの赤い実の収穫で、8月の中・下旬まで忙しい。
Still a lot of blackberries to pick. This lot should keep me busy until mid- to late August.
