Since I planted the new blackberries, it’s hardly rained. Some are turning yellow…

一方、頑張っている、元気な木もある
However, some are trying to ride it out and are in good shape.

古いほうの畑のブラックベリー木には実だらけのものがある。

もう１つのクローズアップ。今度はラズベリーの実。育てているラズベリーは量が少ないけど、今年はたくさん実を結びそう。だが、いっぱい雨に降られたら、実に被害が出やすい。そして、梅雨入りが近づいてきているから、収穫まで行かない実は少なくないかもしれません。露地栽培に伴うリスクだね。
Here’s another close-up – this time of the raspberries. Don’t grow many raspberries, but they look like they may bear a lot of fruit this year. Don’t like the rain too much though, and what with the rainy season coming up, a lot will probably not make it to picking. One of the risks of farming outside exposed to the elements.

以下の写真もラズベリーで、実が黄色い品種だ。これは一番先に取れるから、熟したら今年の収穫季節が始まる。
Here’s a photo of my yellow raspberries. They’re the first to ripen, so they’ll kick off this year’s harvest.
